How to entertain children at home? Is there any magical recipe to keep them busy? In my opinion “Magic” can help. Well, I’m not talking about taking a rabbit out of a hat – my subject is Wizarding Magic! But what kind of fun activities for kids could you do at home?
Busy kids, happy parents
I guess a broom is not dancing in your house, trying to clean it by itself and dirty plates are not washing themselves in the sink. It means YOU need a little bit of time to make all these “non-magical” things happen, or just need to spend some time for yourself in a more pleasant way. You need time and your children have to do something interesting to allow you a break! Fun Magical activities for children could be a solution to keep them busy at home!
Even though nowadays children are not naïve enough to take Magic seriously, they are kids, and certainly, they want to believe in Magic!
Why do children believe in Magic?
Most of the children aged 7 and up have heard about Harry Potter and the existence of schools of Witchcraft and Wizardry like Hogwarts or Beaux Batons. Their dream is to have a Magic Wand, like Harry, Ron and Hermione, to be admitted to Hogwarts and study Potion making, play Quidditch and cast spells!
That’s why I’m suggesting you entertain the children in the way they can only dream about!
What are the most known Magical activities that you could do with children at home?
If your children have seen the Harry Potter movies, or read the Harry Potter saga by J.K Rowling, they will know about Magic even more that you might know. Consequently, Magic is the subject that passions them most! For instance, Magic is a great field for fun activities for kids to do at home!
Magic wand making
What do the kids need to pretend they are witches and wizards and make their imagination work with all the magic spells they could cast? A Magic Wand of course!!!
“Do you want to have a Magic Wand?”- ask your child this question, as a result you will see their eyes shining with excitement! It means it’s a great choice for a fun activity to do at home for your child.
When they will be working on their Magic Wand, you could tell them, that they will transfer some of their power into it. As a result, their hand-made magic wands will be more faithful to them and will be easier to use!
Potion class
Potion making is another great activity that will be fun to do with kids indoor. It’s definitely one of the most popular wizarding activities and an exciting thing to do. However, I guess you didn’t prepare a stock of dry frogs, and you maybe haven’t even heard about ingredients such as Bezoar powder or Phoenix tears!
No worries! For this version of Magic Potion you will find all necessary ingredients in your kitchen cupboard.

It could be another fun activity to make with the children at home.
