Magic Wand making for Harry Potter themed party

Magic Wands for a kids’ Harry Potter party

Any Wizarding Party, in other words, Halloween or Harry Potter themed birthday party, can’t happen without Magic Wands.

The making of Magic Wands will be a perfect start for your party. Therefore, it will keep the children busy for a little bit of time and they will make the tool that is essential for the casting of a spell.

It’s nice making a Magic Wand, however, it’s even more exiting to use it! Above all, the children are looking forward to participate in all activities you have prepared for them – potion brewing, spells and wizarding games. To make all these activities MAGICAL, they need Magic Wands!

If you are looking for a simple idea to make Magic Wands and similarly, if you want the children to make them on their own, this PRINTABLE version will be perfect for you!

How to make Magic Wands easily

To make these magic wands you will need chopsticks, glue and scissors. That’s all!!!

I advise taking bamboo chopsticks that are about 22-25 cm (about 9″) long. You can paint them in advance with acrylic paint to make them look more sophisticated. By my taste, black looks the best and matches all colours of the tops.

Then, just print the sheets of Magic Wand designs.

There are six different colours and you can print as many wands as you need for your party. Therefore, if you invite 12 children, only two of them will have the same wands!

Each Magic Wand has its own name; moreover, it has its unique magic powers!

For example, the blue Magic wand is called “Third Eye Sapphire”. Its powers are the following: “This magic wand draws its power from a Third Eye Sapphire – a stone of wisdom, prophecy and divine favour. This magic wand increases the owner’s ability to foretell the future.”

Certainly, the special powers of the wands will be a nice subject to discuss for the children while they will be making them.

The wand making itself is extremely easy. The wands are double-sided, therefore they look nicer and are stronger.

To make the wand, firstly, cut out two designs of the same colour. Then, glue together the upper parts – the crystals and wings. Finally, use the glue and make a handle of the Magic Wand by rolling the paper rectangles around the top of the chopstick. That’s it! The Magic Wand is ready!

How to make your party fun and magical

Don’t forget the most important: it’s not the Wand that makes the Wizard! Of course, it’s nice to have a beautiful Magic Wand, but what the children want above all, is to USE IT and to CAST SPELLS for real!

MAGIC Practicum concept is all about it. Make the Magic happen, let the children dream. Let them enter a School of Magic and find themselves sitting next to their favourite characters like Harry, Ron and Hermione in the Potions and Charms class!
